Chicago Woman And CCW Holder Shot, Killed With Her Own Gun During Home Invasion

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A home invasion suspect remains at large after shooting and killing a South Side resident with her own gun.

The incident occurred Wednesday, December 7th at around 3:18 am in the 9400 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, on Chicago’s South Side. The victim was identified as a 22 year old woman. The suspect, also identified as a woman, entered the victim’s residence. A confrontation occurred and during the altercation, the suspect disarmed the victim, a CCL holder, of her weapon and shot her once in the chest.

The suspect, who is reportedly not known to the victim, fled the scene and is still at large. The victim was initially transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition but died later. The incident remains under investigation.
