I’m not sure how it started, but I got in touch with the folks over at SafeVest to see what their bulletproof vest was all about. The price seemed pretty low for a Level IIIA vest, so I wanted to check it out so I could see it in person.

As mentioned above, this is a soft armor vest, meaning it’s lighter and more comfortable than plates (and flexible), but they won’t offer as much protection as plates would. The vest itself is comfortable for a bulletproof vest, and I wore it around for almost an entire day under a jacket as I was doing my normal activities. You aren’t buying a bulletproof vest for comfort, however, but it does help that it’s not a nuisance while wearing it.
