Suspect Shot And Killed After Attempting To Force His Way Into Home

ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA — An Alexandria man was forced to shoot a man who attempted to force his way into the man’s residence. The incident occurred in the early morning of Saturday, October 29th.

Alexandria police report that the man, identified as 26-year-old Deon Dominique Hammond, demanded entry into a residence in the Chester Street area at around 6:32 AM. The unidentified resident told Hammond to leave. Hammond then chased the resident. The resident, who was armed, fired at Hammond, who died as a result of his wound.

Alexandria police do not anticipate filing charges in the incident.
