Homeowner Shoots, Kills Home Invader Early Sunday Morning, Keizer Police Say

KEIZER, OREGON — A man is dead after a homeowner shot a home invader on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Keizer police responded to a call for a report of a person with a gunshot wound. The shooting took place around 2:20 a.m. in the 3000 block of Mayfield Place North.

Police say that a homeowner awoke to an intruder in his house and grabbed his firearm. He then fired a single shot, which struck the intruder. He then called police.

Police have identified the intruder as Aaron Scott Gage, 30, of Salem. Gage was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed as of this writing.
