Man With Uzi Shot By Police Inside Texas Business After Harassing Customers

HOUSTON, TEXAS — A man was shot by police after he reportedly reached for a firearm described as an Uzi, after being given commands by responding officers.

Police were called a tire business after the man was harassing people inside. When they arrived, they found the suspect sitting down and gave him the commands.

At some point, police say he lunged towards a gun that was sitting on a table nearby. That prompted police to open fire, striking thr suspect. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately available.

The man is reportedly known to police and has an extensive criminal background.
