Use What You Have Available; Rolling Pin Edition

A bad guy with a gun walks into a restaurant. He then gets beat over the head with a rolling pin, has his gun taken from him, and then he’s beaten some more by a group of employees who simply weren’t having it.

The lesson: Wait until it’s safe to make your move, and use what you have at your disposal to defend yourself. If it’s a rolling pin, it’s a rolling pin.
