Gunman Opens Fire In NYC Subway, At Least 16 Injured

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — At least 16 people were injured after police say a man threw a smoke bomb and opened fire on commuters this morning. 10 of those victims are suffering from gunshot wounds.

The attack happened near the 36th Street station in the borough’s Sunset Park neighborhood, on a train headed for Manhatten around 8:30 am. Police are still searching for the suspect.

A video uploaded to Twitter shows commuters exiting a subway train with smoke coming out. At least one person appears to be injured and laying on the platform.

The suspect may have been posing as an employee of the subway system, and some reports state he was wearing a gas mask.
