Concealed Carrier Shoots Knife-Wielding Assailant In Self-Defense

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA — A concealed carry permit holder shot a man who lunged at him with a knife around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.  According to police, the incident occurred on Ferrell Parkway near Indian Lakes Boulevard, in a parking lot between a Wawa and a Harris Teeter.

Officers arrived to find a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Police determined that the wounded man approached another individual and lunged at him with a knife. The concealed carry permit holder drew his weapon and shot the attacker in self-defense.

No charges have been filed against the concealed carrier.

The knife-wielding attacker, on the other hand, will face charges of attempted malicious wounding and brandishing a weapon which have been approved by the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
