MACON, GEORGIA — A 17-year-old was apparently killed with his own pistol after he and two other teens attacked a man inside the Macon Mall. The Bibb County incident report shows that Quentavious Moore died in a hospital Sunday afternoon, approximately an hour after being shot in the food court of the mall.

According to investigators, an altercation began in a store located in the mall.  It then moved out into the common area, and escalated to three teens holding a fourth man down on the floor. A witness in the mall heard the three tell the victim that they would shoot him if he got up. Not only did he get up, but he also somehow managed to shoot Moore in the chest with his own gun. Following the gunshot, all four men fled the immediate area.

In addition to Quentavious Moore, his brother Kowasis Moore has also been identified as one of the alleged attackers. Kowasis shared with investigators that Quentavious brought a 40-caliber handgun to the mall; however, when officers arrived, Quentavious did not have possession of the pistol.

The gun in question was later located, and evidence technicians will determine if it was the firearm used in the shooting. Charges are expected, but have not yet been filed.
