Homeowner Gets Into Gun Fight With Suspect Who Broke Into Vehicle At Night

Published

“It happened so fast, I didn’t know he had a gun.”

Those were the words of homeowner Jesse Leuthauser as he was talking with reporters about a shootout he had with an armed suspect as they broke into his car during the night.

“This is the third time in three months that it’s happened. They stole it on May 23 and took me 11 days to get it back, and it was destroyed,” said Leuthuaser.

Video shows the incident, including when Leuthauser went outside to confront the suspect.

It doesn’t seem that Leuthauser will face any charges, but it brings up the age-old debate; do you really want to risk your life for a possession?

I understand the frustration, and I understand wanting to protect what you’ve worked for, but you can’t protect anything or anyone if you’re dead.
