Homeowner Legally Defends Their Home From Armed Burglar

HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA — Keon Washington was arrested after attempting to break into a home where he was then shot in self-defense.

Washington was armed with a butchers knife when he attempted to break into a home. According to authorities, Washington attempted to enter the home but was confronted by the armed homeowner. The armed homeowner gave several warnings telling Washington to leave and that he was armed.

Washington continued his attempt to enter the home, and it was at that point the homeowner shot and wounded Washington, who then fled from the house. Police were able to find and arrest Washington. He was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Washington has been charged with felony trespassing and attempted burglary charges, as well as terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.
