Boulder Police Use Slain Officer’s Handcuffs To Formally Take Suspect Into Custody

The mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado on Monday took the lives of 10 people, including Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley. In a small but powerful gesture, officers officially placed the suspect into custody using Officer Talley’s handcuffs.

The suspect faces 10 counts of first-degree murder, as well as an additional count of attempted murder of an officer.

When police entered the store where the shooting was taking place, they came under fire almost immediately.

A motive has not yet been determined, and things are underway to determine the mental condition of the suspect.

The funeral for Officer Talley will take place on March 30th at 11 am local time. A live stream of the service can be viewed at that time via the link in the below tweet.
