Woman Shot After Attacking Bar Owner With Knife

Published

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA — A woman is recovering after receiving a gunshot wound after police say she attacked a bar owner with a knife.

The incident happened mid-January one night around 10 pm, and neither the woman or the person who fired the shot has been identified.

There is very little information to go on, but it brings up a good question; In Florida, it is illegal to carry a firearm inside an establishment that is primarily devoted to alcohol sales. Does this exclude an owner of the establishment? I’m not certain, but will be reaching out to our friends at Legal Heat to see if they can shed some light on the topic.

In any event, one person inside was prepared for a deadly threat and was able to stop that threat before things got out of hand.

There is no word as to why the woman attacked, but let’s hope she gets the help she needs.
