GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA — A 17-year-old high school student was shot and killed last month, and police have announced that they believe the teen was trying to commit armed robbery at the time he was shot.

Details surrounding the incident are slim, but what we do know is that the teen was found by police at 10:40 p.m. on March 25. It was not clear whether he was found inside a residence, outside a residence, or on the street.

Police said that the person responsible for shooting the teen is not a threat to the community, and they also believe that the teen carried out the armed robbery attempt by himself.

We’re left under the impression that an armed citizen was able to successfully defend his or herself against an armed treat.
