HOUSTON, TX — A man was shot and killed after he allegedly attacked his wife in the middle of the night, according to News Fix.
The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but if he was really, truly threatening the life of his spouse — he had it coming.
As News Fix reports:
The Houston Police Department is investigating after a man was fatally shot during an argument in north Houston. According to police, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Seminar. Police responded to a domestic violence call and found a man shot in the arm and abdomen inside an apartment courtyard. Further investigation revealed that the man and woman were husband and wife.
The wife told police that she shot her husband in self-defense. The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
We often call firearms the great Equalizer, and we mean it. There are women that are fantastic when it comes to self-defense, and we couldn’t more highly recommend both men and women investing a bit of time and money in some basic self-defense classes, if you haven’t done so already, both with your firearms and with your hands — there’s no need to be solely effective with a firearm.
But it’s an unfortunate fact that in the event of domestic abuse or assaults on women perpetrated by men, the man is often significantly larger than the woman they’re facing.
Non-lethal defensive tools like tasers, pepper sprays, or even whistles can on occasion prove effective deterrents of crime, but they only go so far.
Ladies, gentlemen, too — invest in a personal defense firearm. Very rare is the person who regrets the choice or investment.
