[VIDEO] FBI Director Testifies: Concealed Carriers Are Not A Problem

During a two-hour 2016 budget hearing for the FBI, Texas U.S. Rep. John Culberson asked FBI director James Comey if he’s ever had any problems with concealed carry permit holders during his time not only as FBI director, but also as a federal prosecutor for over 20 years. His response doesn’t send waves through the pro-gun world, but it certainly should send waves through the pro-gun control world.

“You mentioned earlier about criminals with guns, I doubt you’ve ever had a problem with a concealed carry permit holder who is licensed with a background check using their good judgment,” Culberson said at the end of Comey’s two-hour testimony. “Could you comment on that as a law enforcement officer?”

“I haven’t had situations where there has been problems with that,” Comey said.

“With a concealed carry permit holder?” Culberson asked.

“No, not that I can remember,” Comey said.

The distinction between the two: concealed carry permit holder vs. criminal with a gun, is very clear during their interaction. It’s the part where gun control advocates fall short time and time again. As we know, many gun control advocates are turned off by the idea of concealed carry, since it will turn the streets red with blood. Or not.

The FBI director understands that legal concealed carriers are not the problem. Let’s move on now, shall we?
