Another Darwin Award: Felony Suspect Shoots Himself In The Leg While Fleeing

This story is short and sweet, and is the third to be included in our new category in just as many days, Darwin Award. A suspect was running from a home as police were patrolling after they learned that he could be in the area.

As the suspect, 28-year-old Aaron Braatz, was running, he fell and shot himself in the leg.

Brilliant.

He then hobbled over to a house and went inside. After about a half hour and coming to the conclusion that he had no where to go and needed medical attention, Braatz surrendered to police.

Police say Braatz was arrested for multiple warrants involving drugs, weapons and theft. His injuries are non-life threatening.
