Night of Chaos in Port Charlotte: One Suspect Dead, One Critical in Home Invasion

PORT CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA — A home invasion in Port Charlotte resulted in one fatality, one critically injured individual, and two arrests on Wednesday night. Deputies arrived at the scene on Felton Avenue shortly before 11 p.m., where they discovered an injured man lying on the road.

The incident involved four suspects aged between 17 and 32. One of the suspects was confirmed dead on-site, while another remains in a critical condition receiving medical attention.

The Sheriff’s Office commended the swift actions of the deputies, who successfully apprehended two fleeing suspects in a silver car.

Sadly, two dogs were also caught in the crossfire during the ordeal and rushed to a local veterinary clinic for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, one of the dogs succumbed to its injuries.

The case remains under investigation, and pending charges are anticipated. Authorities are urging anyone with further information to contact the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office directly or to anonymously report tips to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477.
