LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY — A 19-year-old, identified as Oscar Daniel Wilds, died after breaking into a house on Jouett Creek Drive, Kentucky.
Police were called at 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 20 for a reported burglary and found the intruder with gunshot wounds, according to Lex 18.
The coroner’s office confirmed that Wilds’ death was a homicide caused by the homeowner who shot him during the home invasion.
The family, who had lived there for less than a year, had no physical injuries but suffered nonetheless.
“The family had no physical injuries. Obviously mental trauma, but the family — no physical injuries,” said Fayette Co. Coroner Gary Ginn according to Lex 18.
The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed against the homeowner at the time of Lex 18’s report.
