Woman Tells Burglar to Rob Home, Gets Charged With His Murder

St. LOUIS, MISSOURI — A St. Louis man shot and killed a burglar last month, and prosecutors have declined to charge him with a crime, as it was a self-defense shooting.

They had no problem, however, charging the woman who helped organize that burglary with her comrade’s death.

According to KTVI, officers arrived at the St. Louis home to find burglar Katrell McCurry neither conscious or breathing, having been shot multiple times.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. Police took a 37-year-old unnamed man into custody after the incident, but he was released.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, he was let go by authorities “citing lack of evidence as a self-defense claim was made and the castle doctrine.”

Partner-in-crime (literally, in this case) Tierra Gines, 31, was apparently at the home with the homeowner and then texted McCurry that there were valuables at the residence, telling him to break in.

She specifically mentioned there were guns, but that wasn’t enough to dissuade him from giving it a go.

Gines has been charged with second-degree murder and first-degree burglary.
