YERINGTON, NEVADA — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) announced a man was shot dead after invading a Yerington home. On August 8, 2022, at 11:48 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a residence on Giorgi Lane in Yerington for a report of a home invasion.
When deputies arrived at the scene, say they found a dead male suspect at the home. The homeowner advised them he shot the intruder.
The homeowner is cooperating with LCSO’s investigation. The isolated incident poses no threat to the community, according to officials.
All parties involved have been identified and there are no outstanding suspects. The deceased man’s name will not be released until their family has been notified.
At this time, there is no information on whether any charges will be filed.
