Suspect In Las Vegas Mall Shooting Turned Into Police By His Own Mother

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — A retaliation shooting took place at Meadows Mall on December 31st in which two people were shot. Police were searching for the suspect, and found him in a likely unexpected way.

About 3 p.m. on Dec. 31, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to reports of a shooting that wounded two people at the Meadows Mall. One person was hit by a ricocheted bullet in the face and the other, identified as Elijah Herbert, was shot multiple times by 26-year-old Jarvis Williams.

In October of the same year, police say Williams and his mother were victims of a shooting, and Herbert was the suspect. Williams vowed to take care of business himself, and it seems that this is where our story comes together.

After putting the pieces together after the December 31st shooting, Williams’ mother called police to tell them what she knew. This led to Williams being arrested on January 5th.

He was arrested on charges of open murder, possession of gun by prohibited person, possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, battery with a deadly weapon and discharging a gun in a prohibited area.

Mom did the right thing here, and was able to help police get closer to justice. It must have been a hard decision to make, but one that will save future lives, including those who could be at the wrong place at the wrong time when Williams decides to pop some shots off.
