OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – An armed man was shot during an apparent robbery attempt at a marijuana dispensary in northwest Oklahoma City Tuesday afternoon. If this story sounds familiar, it may be because another man was fatally shot in another of the city’s dispensaries in May after he was kicked out of the Stability Cannabis Shop and later returned brandishing a knife.
In the recent incident, the man entered Gaia’s Favor dispensary armed with two knives and threatened a clerk. Police haven’t said what his demands were, but they apparently weren’t met by the clerk.
“He became extremely agitated and started breaking the display cases,” said Lieutenant Isaac Goodman of the OCPD. “He was out of control to the point where the store clerk and store owner who was in there felt threatened and had to protect themselves.”
The owner drew a gun and shot the knife-wielding suspect. He was transported to Oklahoma University Medical Center for treatment, where he was listed in critical condition.
There were no other reported injuries, and the names of those involved were not released. Police are reviewing surveillance video of the incident as part of their investigation.
