BULLHEAD CITY, AZ (2-minute read) — A deadly shooting in Bullhead City, Arizona, is under investigation after what appears to be a case of self-defense. The incident unfolded Thursday evening at approximately 7:50 p.m. on the 900 block of Seafair Drive. According to the Bullhead City Police Department, a woman armed with a knife was shot and killed after she confronted and threatened residents at their home.

The woman, identified as 49-year-old Lucindy Gale Parkison of Bullhead City, reportedly arrived at the residence to address ongoing issues with the residents. Tensions escalated quickly as Parkison, armed with a knife, confronted and threatened the residents. During the altercation, Parkison aggressively advanced toward the residents, pushing one of the female residents against a wall and holding a knife to her throat. The female victim sustained a defensive cut on her hand while attempting to fend off the attack.

Amid the chaos, a male resident, who was armed with a firearm, demanded that Parkison leave the property. However, instead of retreating, Parkison charged at him with the knife. In response, the male resident fired multiple shots, fatally wounding Parkison. The shooting took place in the front yard of the residence.

The identities of the residents involved in the incident have not been released by the police. However, it has been confirmed that they cooperated fully with the investigation. Police are currently assessing the situation, though no arrests have been made, as the evidence suggests that the shooting was an act of self-defense.

Safety Tip: Always be aware of your surroundings and recognize potential threats. In any confrontation, prioritize de-escalation and call authorities immediately if you feel endangered.
