PORTLAND, OR (1-minute read) — A violent night unfolded in North Portland on Friday when a woman was stabbed, and two men were shot following a series of domestic violence incidents, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The turmoil began just after 9 p.m. on North Fessenden Street. Police responded to reports of a woman being repeatedly stabbed in the arm by her boyfriend. Although officers searched for the suspect, they could not locate him at that time. The injured woman was transported to the hospital, where she received medical treatment for her wounds.

Later, around 11 p.m., officers were called back to the same location. A neighbor, attempting to retrieve the injured woman’s dog, confronted the stabbing suspect. She was accompanied by her boyfriend during this attempt. According to police reports, the neighbor said the suspect threatened her with a knife, prompting her to shoot and injure him. In the chaotic confrontation, she also accidentally shot her boyfriend.

Both injured men were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but are expected to recover. The woman who fired the shots handed over her firearm to the police and is fully cooperating with the investigation. Authorities have not arrested her.
