Teen Shot And In Critical Condition After Attempted Home Invasion

MASCOTTE, FLORIDA – A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot during an attempted home invasion in Mascotte, according to local police. Early on the morning of Dec. 28, officers were called to Pine Needle Drive where they found the teen who had allegedly attempted to enter the home and was subsequently shot by the homeowner.

Lake County EMS treated the suspect at the scene before he was transferred to Orlando Regional Medical Center for further care. The residents of the home were unharmed and are assisting with the ongoing investigation, with no charges expected against them.

Police are investigating a possible connection between this incident and another attempted break-in nearby.
