The incident occurred near I-20 and McCart Avenue. The female resident, who reported previous break-in attempts, called 911 early Thursday morning to report an attempted burglary. Police responded but left after completing their report. Shortly after, the woman made a second 911 call, claiming the intruder had returned. When police arrived the second time, they found the teenager with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
