Homeowner Shoots And Kills Intruder Who Broke Into Her House Through Locked Back Door

AMARILLO, TEXAS — An Amarillo resident fatally shot an intruder early on Thursday, law enforcement officials report. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at a dwelling on N. Adams block 1700.

On arrival, police discovered the body of 53-year-old Cedric Milligan.

The female homeowner alleges Milligan unlawfully entered her home through a locked back door. In response, she retrieved a firearm and used it against him in self-defense.

The Amarillo Police Department’s homicide division is presently looking into the matter.
