Virginia Break-In Leads To Non-Fatal Shooting

ROANOKE COUNTY, VIRGINIA — The Roanoke County Police Department reported a break-in at North Point Apartments on Sunday morning, resulting in a shooting incident.

The police were notified of the break-in around 2:41 a.m. on March 5, and upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the intruder was shot by the homeowner, who used their gun, according to WFXR.

The injured person, who has yet to be named, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

No arrests have been made at this time, but the homeowner is fully cooperating with the investigators. The authorities are still looking into the case to gather more information and determine the appropriate course of action.
