Home Invader Allegedly Smashes Residence Window, Shot By Woman Inside

SMYRNA, GEORGIA — On Thursday night, a female resident of a Smyrna apartment fatally shot a man in self-defense after he broke her window and intruded into her home, according to authorities.

Law enforcement confirmed that the two individuals were not acquainted, and no charges will be pressed, according to WSB-TV.

Smyrna police received a report about a shooting incident at Alder Park Apartments on Cumberland Way.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased man at the scene. Further information provided by the police on Friday revealed that the man had unlawfully entered the woman’s apartment.

The woman recounted to the police that around 7:50 p.m., she heard someone pounding on her front door. The man then proceeded to her kitchen window and broke it.

Despite her repeated pleas for him to halt, he entered her apartment through the shattered window. At that point, the woman shot him in self-defense.

Authorities have not disclosed the man’s identity.
