COLUMBUS, OHIO — The Columbus police are investigating multiple incidents of violence over recent weeks, according to a report.

One of them resulted in the death of Nathaniel Spears, 30, who was found lying in front of an apartment building on Red Bird Court early in the morning, according to QFM96.

Police said that Spears had been involved in a fight with an unidentified suspect that led to the shooting.

The police are currently investigating claims of self-defense and plan to turn over their findings to a Franklin County grand jury for consideration. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the police have made an arrest in a Northeast Side murder that occurred the month prior. Paul Anthony Banks, a 34-year-old homeless man, has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of 60-year-old Ronald Price, according to QFM96.

The incident occurred inside a home on Atwood Terrace just before midnight, according to Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit. Banks was arrested on Friday and is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail.
