Published

PHOENIX, ARIZONA — A 26-year-old man named Oscar Luna was fatally shot inside a Phoenix restaurant near 2700 West Camelback Road earlier this month, according to reports.

Phoenix officers arrived at the scene around 10 p.m. and found Luna with a gunshot wound. AZ Central reported that according to Sgt. Brian Bower, “Phoenix fire took the man to a local hospital where he did not survive his injuries.”

The police detained a man and took him in for questioning. “We had several witnesses, and we detained a man,” Bower said.

According to the detectives who took over the investigation, the man who was killed had entered the restaurant with a gun and fired several rounds inside the building.

“The man detained and questioned by police was inside the restaurant during this incident and had shot the individual ending this confrontation,” Bower said.

The detained man claimed it was self-defense, and many witnesses supported his statement, according to the police. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the incident was still under investigation.
