Elderly Man Reportedly Stabbed In Face, Still Shoots And Kills Alleged Attacker

ELDERON, WISCONSIN — An attempted robbery and home invasion resulted in the death of a 22 year old suspect, allegedly shot and killed by his intended victim, according to reports.

The incident occurred early in the morning of Tuesday, January 3rd in Elderon, according to WAOW.

The 79-year-old victim was followed home by the suspect who attacked him in his garage, stabbing him at least once in the face.

The victim produced a firearm and shot the suspect once in the chest. The suspect was able to wrest the gun away from the victim and fled. The suspect was found deceased in a vehicle at the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Marathon County Sheriff’s officials have not released any information regarding the suspect, pending notification of next-of-kin. The incident remained under investigation at the time of WAOW’s report.
