Armed Citizen Shoots 2 Of 3 Suspects During Incident At Mall

CHICAGO RIDGE, ILLINOIS — Police say a person with a concealed carry permit shot two people outside a restaurant at Chicago Ridge Mall. The incident happened Thursday evening.

Around 8:20pm, a couple was getting into their vehicle in the parking lot when they were approached by three men. The man getting into the car, a concealed carry permit holder, fired multiple rounds at the three men.

Two of the three men were struck by gunfire.

23-year-old Reginald T. Williams was one of the three men, who police arrested as a result of the incident and charged with battery. Williams also had an unrelated arrest warrant.

After an investigation, it was decided that the concealed carry holder would not be charged.

Police believe the incident stemmed from an ongoing domestic disagreement.
