TORRINGTON, CONNETICUT — A man and woman are facing numerous charges after a home invasion using a laser-equipped paintball gun. Police were called to a home on Dutton Hill just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24th, with the caller reporting an armed intruder in the home.

Police were able to apprehend both suspects after they fled the scene, and identified them as Jacob Greene, 29, of Windsor and Cassie Lucca, 19, of Canton.  According to investigators, the pair forced entry through a basement apartment door, and Greene was carrying a paintball pistol with a laser sight. Officers said that the gun strongly resembled a real firearm.

Once inside, Greene allegedly pointed the laser sight at an occupant of the home and demanded items that had previously belonged to Lucca. Greene and the male occupant got into a physical altercation, during which Greene struck the man multiple times while on top of him. The victim managed to gain control of the piston and strike Greene in the head with it, ending the fight.

According to investigators, the pair broke into the home with the intention of taking, by force, two pants, two tank tops, and a painting that was bought at a Goodwill store. The items were left there from a prior relationship that Lucca had. Both suspects lied to investigators regarding their intentions and actions.

Greene was charged with home invasion, burglary in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, illegal use of a fake gun, assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, and larceny in the sixth degree. He is being held on a $400,000 bond.

Lucca was charged with home invasion, burglary in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, criminal trespassing in the second degree, and larceny in the sixth degree. She is being held on $100,000 bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court later Wednesday morning. There was no word on the condition of the occupant who was attacked by Greene.
