Texans: During A Natural Disaster, You Can Carry A Handgun Without A License

Published

For Texans who are in the upcoming hurricane’s danger zone, and are evacuating either voluntarily or mandatory, they are able to carry a handgun with them for up to one week after the evacuation order.

This is thanks to House Bill 1177, which was passed just last year. There are some restrictions, so be sure to click the link to read the bill.

This bill allows residents, of-age and able to legally own a handgun, to carry that handgun in an open or concealed manner.

We’ve all seen what can happen after these natural disasters, and it’s always a good idea to be able to defend yourself during these times of crisis.
