Man Dies In Philly While Trying To Blow Up ATM: If It’s Not Your Home Or Business, Don’t Be A Hero

Published

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — A 24-year-old man is dead after police say he tried using explosives on an ATM machine inside the city. Police commissioner Danielle Outlaw believes that it was one of many similar instances, and that the attacks were coordinated and planned.

This particular incident happened around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

FOX 29’s Lauren Johnson reported that, according to police, the man was using explosives. He was seriously injured at the scene and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police were investigating at this location, and this did not appear to be the lone incident.

People phoned in similar reports throughout the night.

What we’ve been reporting on over the past few days has put everyone on edge, and this story serves as a reminder that’s important to remember: If your life, home or business isn’t being targeted, don’t get involved. Don’t try to be a hero. If you see something, call police to report it.

Outside of that, these opportunistic people will continue to do what they’re doing until control can be restored.

Until then, stay safe and don’t enter these areas of conflict.
