Woman Shoots And Kills Abusive Ex-Boyfriend After He Breaks Down Door

SPEEDWAY, INDIANA — A woman home with her two children was in fear of her life when her abusive ex-boyfriend began breaking into her apartment.

The woman, who has not been identified, fired a single shot as he entered her apartment a little after 4am on Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the couple has a history of domestic violence and that they have responded to numerous calls to the same apartment.

Neither of the two young children were hurt during the incident. Who knows what would have happened had this woman not been armed. With a history of domestic abuse, these things can and do turn deadly.
