A Florida man is happy to be alive after a frightening encounter with an armed robber. It happened yesterday afternoon in a Taco Bell parking lot in Pompano Beach.

The intended victim, 37-year-old Ronald Farmer, was standing outside of his vehicle when the armed man approached him wearing a ski mask and sunglasses. The man pointed his firearm at Farmer and told him that he was being robbed. The thug then tells Farmer to pull his pants down. Wait… what?

That’s when Farmer says he distracted the thug and was able to reach for his own firearm and shot him dead. The robber was later identified as 21-year-old Rontavis James Holton.

The investigation is ongoing, but it seems to be a clear cut case of self-defense.
