[CCW IN ACTION] Two PA Legislators Robbed At Gunpoint Outside Capitol, But One Legislator Had A Surprise For The Robbers

Just a day after three legislators were robbed in the same area, it happened again to two different PA legislators on their way home from the Capitol Tuesday night. Except this time, the robbery turned into an attempted robbery.

The representatives, Marty Flynn, D-Lackawanna, and Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, were walking home from the Capitol when a man approached them and pointed a gun at them while demanding their wallets. When the gunman had his gun targeted at Bizzarro, Flynn drew his Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 and pointed it back at the gunman.

The gunman was said to have quickly fired at Bizzarro, while Flynn got off two shots of his own toward the gunman. Neither men were hit.

Four people were found and arrested in connection with the incident, two 15-year-olds and two 17-year-olds.

Police are said to have increased their presence around the Capitol area in response to the recent incidents, even though all involved with those incidents were captured.

“I’m very concerned about the safety in downtown Harrisburg,” said Sen. Rich Alloway, R-Adams. “I have to tell you, I do not carry a firearm, but I’m going to. I’m actually going to go get a permit and I’m going to start carrying. This is crazy what’s going on.”

All four arrested will be charged with robbery, cconspiracy and violating curfew, the police said.
