FLORENCE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — The Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Shaquawna Shaneka Riggins for allegedly posting false information about an active shooter at a local middle school on Facebook.
The post led to widespread panic, with many concerned family members arriving at the school, creating an unsafe environment, according to WBTW.
Riggins has been charged with breach of peace, and authorities have stressed their commitment to ensuring student safety in schools.
“Anyone found to be interfering with this goal will face prosecution to the fullest extent of the law,” according to Sheriff TJ Joye.
Should she be guilty of what she’s accused of, it’s difficult to understand who in their right mind would do such an awful thing deliberately.
