73-Year-Old Kills 5 After Storming Condo Board Meeting In Toronto

TORONTO — Police say a 73-year-old man is dead after he stormed into a condo board meeting and opened fire on board members, killing 5 and injuring 1. The incident unfolded on Sunday during the meeting. The suspect is said to be a long-time resident of the complex.

The suspect is said to have used a handgun during the attack.

“I am absolutely shocked and heartbroken that five individuals have lost their lives…and for this to happen in a community like Vaughan…is devastating,” Vaughan mayor Steven Del Duca said Monday. “It’s just horrifying and I can’t imagine what the victims families are going through right now.”

Police say the suspect had long-running disputes with the board members, including lawsuits. The attack ended after police shot and killed the 73-year-old.
