[VIDEO] Concealed Carry Mistakes That Drive Cops Crazy

There seems to be a great divide in this country about the role of law enforcement officers. In many cases, they have been vilified and persecuted as horrible people. In other cases, they are celebrated as a much needed force in communities around the country.

As concealed carriers, I believe it is in our best interest to abide by the state laws and cooperate with police officers. I’ve had my share of law enforcement interactions and never had a problem with carrying a gun. I have found that “most” law enforcement officers are pro 2A. I have friends who are cops. They tell me they have no motive to give law abiding gun carriers a hard time. Maybe I am a lucky guy as I understand that is not always the case.

Every state has different CCW laws. Some states require a CCW permit and others do not. In Michigan (and several other states) the CCW carrier must announce they are carrying a gun with any police interaction. That is the state law. As much as I agree that my CCW permit is the 2nd Amendment, I don’t want to spend the night in jail. I cringe every time I have to renew my Michigan CPL (Concealed Pistol License) and pay $110, it is, in fact, the state law.

I decided to interview Mid-Michigan Police Officer Vincent Jackson about concealed carry mistakes that drive cops crazy. Jackson is also a firearms trainer and a strong 2A supporter. He agreed to share his thoughts in hopes to enlighten people. We did not try to increase the police/CCW divide but to narrow it. The fact is, with every police interaction, everyone wants to make it home healthy and alive.
