Should You Try And Catch A Falling Gun?

Published

I’ve dropped a gun once. It wasn’t even mine. I was at the range with a buddy (sorry, man!) and he was showing me his brand new pistol. I don’t recall what it was off hand, but it was a beauty. I picked it up, made sure it was clear, and next thing we know it’s hitting the concrete floor.

I didn’t even know what to say. I looked at my friend with my shocked face and apologized a few dozen times while we inspected any damage. Luckily it somehow made it through the drop without a single scratch, but my instincts let it drop to the floor.

Knowing that the firearm was in fact unloaded, should I have tried to save it? I think it’s best practice… no matter how hard it’d be to watch a gun hit the floor… to let them go and hope for the best. If we try and save a loaded firearm and accidentally hit that trigger, you’ll wish you let it hit the concrete floor instead.

Watch the video above and share your thoughts. Would you try and catch a falling gun?
