Woman Holds Man At Gunpoint After He Was Found Raping Her 12-Year-Old Daughter

CLEVELAND COUNTY, OKLAHOMA — On January 13, 2024, Donovan Scott Sheppard, a 39-year-old youth baseball coach, was arrested in Southwest Oklahoma City after being accused of raping a young girl. The arrest followed an incident where Sheppard, after a fight at a Moore bar, was brought home by a woman he lived with. According to an affidavit, the woman discovered Sheppard raping the girl in her room and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

The affidavit reveals Sheppard informed the authorities that he is HIV positive. Further investigation uncovered that this was not an isolated incident. The young victim disclosed to the police multiple instances of sexual assault by Sheppard, including on her birthday. She confirmed to a forensic interviewer that Sheppard had raped her six times.

Sheppard, known for coaching the youth baseball team Oklahoma Aftermath, has caused distress among parents of the children he coached. His arrest has led to multiple charges, including lewd molestation, rape by instrumentation, first-degree rape of a minor under 14, exposing others to AIDS, and a pattern of criminal offenses. All charges are felonies. Currently detained in Cleveland County Jail, Sheppard’s bond is set at $500,000.
