NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA — Two people lost their lives in what police describe as a homicide, and then a self-defensive shooting. The event unfolded around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Lower Mahanoy Township on Malta Road, as reported by the local District Attorney’s Office.
The Pennsylvania State Police revealed that the incident stemmed from an earlier altercation involving two women, one a minor, and 47-year-old Tracey Adams. After the dispute, the women sought refuge at 31-year-old Brandi Hauck’s residence.
Adams, armed with a pistol, later arrived at Hauck’s home. He demanded Hauck to come out, and upon her refusal, he shot her through the front door, resulting in her immediate death.
Adams then entered Hauck’s house, allegedly intending to harm others inside. During this tense situation, a child present in the house shot Adams in self-defense.
The Northumberland County District Attorney’s Office has declared the child’s actions as justified, acknowledging that they likely prevented further harm or fatalities. The investigation into this double homicide is still ongoing, with updates to be provided as new information becomes available.
