Man Returns To Party Armed, Is Shot And Killed With His Own Gun

DONEY PARK, ARIZONA — Last week in Doney Park, a neighborhood northeast of Flagstaff, Arizona, a violent incident at a party led to one death and one injury, as reported by Coconino County sheriff’s deputies. The event occurred late Thursday night on Bryant Road.

A dispute escalated between two individuals at the gathering, resulting in one, David Nevala, being asked to leave. Nevala, who lived next door, returned shortly with a firearm and shot one attendee. He then pursued two others into a bedroom. During a subsequent scuffle, Nevala was disarmed and fatally shot. He was declared dead at the scene.

The initial victim of the shooting was hospitalized in Flagstaff and has since been discharged. The sheriff’s department is continuing its investigation into the incident.

While this incident played out relatively well, as in no innocent people were killed, it’s a reminder to be prepared and armed yourself. Relying on the suspect’s gun for your own protection isn’t the way to go.
