CUSTER COUNTY, COLORADO — Law enforcement intensified their hunt on Tuesday for Hanme Kim Clark, 45, suspected of killing three individuals and critically injuring another. The search, involving multiple police departments and a Denver Police Department helicopter, spanned both air and ground. A shelter-in-place order was issued for a portion of Chaffee County, later lifted by Sheriff John Spezze after extensive searching. Clark, considered armed and dangerous, is believed to be driving a white or silver pickup truck.

The ordeal began with a report of gunfire in a wooded area near Rocky Ridge Road, north of Westcliffe. Custer County Sheriff Rich Smith implemented a shelter-in-place order during an 8-hour manhunt on Monday. The search continued into Chaffee County overnight, with at least five local police departments joining, employing drones and surveillance cameras.

Authorities discovered the suspect’s truck on Walmart surveillance footage; however, the identity of a passenger who entered the store remains unknown. The public was alerted through an emergency system, and although the shelter-in-place was lifted, officials advised vigilance.

Reggie Foster, Custer County’s public information officer, suggested the shooting stemmed from a property dispute. The identities of the deceased, two males and one female, have not been disclosed. The injured woman is expected to survive. The suspect’s current location remains unknown.
