Ohio Home Intruder Reportedly Shot, Killed By Homeowner

A homeowner shot and killed an alleged trespasser in the Southern Orchards neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, according to cleveland.com.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m., with officers responding to reports of a trespasser at the residence, according to WBNS.

Police informed WCMH that the homeowner had fatally shot the intruder by the time they arrived, and the intruder was pronounced dead by 6:30 p.m.

The identity of the deceased trespasser had not initially been disclosed, but has now been identified as Kevin Smith, 60.

While the homeowner has not been charged, the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case, as reported by WBNS.
