Armed Citizen Defends Homeowner During California Home Invasion

KERN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — Kern County authorities provided additional details Wednesday regarding a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Barnett Street the previous week.

Deputies initially responded to a report of vandalism in the area when they discovered an injured man with a gunshot wound, according to The Bakersfield Californian.

Investigations revealed that the individual had forcefully entered a residence on Barnett Street, prompting another man to shoot him in defense of the homeowner.

A firearm was recovered from the scene, and no arrests have been made thus far. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed.
